So I just tried to a do a bit of research to refute yoru statement that your large cookie was almost a cake. They are completely different animals. I didn't find a cut and dried answer on the difference in the first Google search (I do know the wet/dry proportions and ingredients are different, so I'm right) but I did find #8 Goole listing for Wikipedia's entry on hash cookies, hash cakes & hash brownies. Did you know that "one is not usually able to tell the difference between regular baked goods and those containing drugs?"Are you sure your cookie wasn't a "space cookie?"
